Hindi ko alam kung bakit pero since last year, nirerecord ko ‘yung time stamps ng mga daily activities ko.
I posted that about eight months ago, and ‘yung data was from around September to December 2018. Visual kasi akong tao (lights on, hehe) kaya ganyan ‘yung pagkaka-present ko ng data. It makes it easier to see how my day — even the week or month — went at a single glance.
Tinuloy ko lang ito and this time mas magbibigay ako ng insights sa inyo para naman ‘yung data natin ay maging wisdom at may mapulot tayo dito.
PS. Since lahat tayo dito tamad magbasa, uunahin ko ‘yung conclusion, tapos presentation of data bago ‘yung scope and methodology.
Conclusions
Sa 24 hours na meron ako, minus:
- 8 hours na tulog
- 3 hours na biyahe
- 5 hours na productive work at
- 2.5 hours na pagkain
Meron na lang akong 5.5 hours to live my life.
It is a really good read and takes things into perspective.
RELATIONSHIPS
Kung meron man akong dapat paglaanan nu’ng natitirang 5.5 hours ng araw ko, improving relationships should be my priority.
Quality time matters. If you’re in your last 10% of time with someone you love, keep that fact in the front of your mind when you’re with them and treat that time as what it actually is: precious.
That is what to be in the tail end means.
Ayoko maging dramatic, pero such is life. Let’s try our best to improve the relationships that we have. Kapag niyaya ka ng family mo to spend the weekend with them, ‘wag kang tamarin. Kapag ininvite ka ng friend mong matagal mo nang hindi nakikita, make time for them.
Start small and iterate often.
Pwede mong simulan by jotting down your daily activities and measuring how much time you spend on them. After a few week’s time, makikita mo ‘yung pattern. And then you can adjust. Rinse and repeat.
Ayos ‘no? Conclusion pero pwede rin introduction. Game.
Data
Activity | Average Hours Per Day |
Commute | 2:48:34 |
Sleep | 7:42:28 |
Work | 5:11:48 |
Leisure | 5:51:41 |
Personal Productivity | 1:43:56 |
Exercise | 0:53:40 |
Ganito ang 24 hours a day kung i-vvisualize natin.
I-plot natin ang Commute and Sleep.
Commute
You be the judge of that.
Sleep
Wala akong angal dito kasi ito ang target kong number of hours of sleep. Basta I try to go to bed at 11 PM and my alarm goes off at 7 AM. That is some good stuff if I do say so myself.
Next ay Exercise.
Exercise
Totally something I need to work on. One hour a day is nice, but I know I can do better.
Tapos ‘yung natitirang tatlo: Work, Leisure and Personal Productivity.
Work
Okaaaay, bago niyo ako i-crucify, it has been proven that on an eight-hour work day, we are only productive for 5-6 hours. Maybe even less. So ‘yung 5:11:48 ko is kindaaa acceptable, pero yes, can still be improved.
Relax mga ser.
Leisure
Kasama dito ‘yung lunch break at meryenda so ‘yung 5:51:41 bawasan natin ng 2:30:00 (bakit ba, growing child eh).
Now this is something I have total control of. Pwede ko pa ‘tong bawasan and i-spend sa ibang activities.
Personal Productivity
Gaya ng exercise, I know I can do better.
Scope
Ain’t nobody got time for that. Besides, that is around 12 weeks of data naman. Pwede na…ish.
Methodology
Gano’n talaga.
Which is why I try to do this religiously. Mabilis ang feed back loop. Pwede kong tignan ‘yung app right now and say na last week, I only spent 25 hours sleeping (that’s 5 hours a day) so maybe, I’ll try to go to bed much earlier this time.
Activities
Meron lang akong six major categories for my activities:
- Commute – travel times to and from my house and the office
- Sleep – most important part of my day
- Work – productive hours at the office
- Leisure – lunch and coffee breaks, video games, tv shows, the works
- Personal Productivity – errands, chores, hobbies, getting things done
- Exercise – physical activities not limited to going to the gym and running
